Michael JacobsonMichael Jacobson was born in Staten Island, New York on May 9th, 1964. He was forced to move at the tender age of only six months due to his fathers transfer with the government to Atlanta, Georgia.
Michael's first love was music. He picked up his fathers flute at the age of seven and started playing to the amazement of his parents. Many years later he taught himself to play guitar and was on his way to a career in the music business when he discovered his love of art.
Having no formal training he began apprenticing under the artful eye of his best friend and mentor, Andrew McGovern. Together they created some of Atlanta's most well known and memorable murals. Many of the murals still stand today almost ten years after their completion. Michael has been working for the last several years in the music video business working with such big names as Outkast, Ja Rule, Mystikal, Lil Bow Wow, Killer Mike, and many others. What you see in the background during these videos is what Michael brings to the show.
Though proficient at computer graphics, Michael felt the need to begin painting with real paint, brushes and anything else he could get his hands on. Michaels work has been compared to the late Francis Bacon and Jean-Michel Basquiat. |
