Marirosa Hofmann Born into a Euro-Spanish/American household, Marirosa began painting and drawing at very young age. In fact, she was rarely without a sketchbook. Her dreams of becoming an artist began to take form when she was selected in high school to attend the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts (NCSA). By the age of eighteen, she had already sold a painting to the director of a major motion picture.
After graduating from NCSA in 1992, Marirosa continued her art training at Atlanta College of Art in Georgia. While still in college, Marirosa sold a sculpture entitled, “Spirit Vessel,” to the Federal Reserve Bank for its private collection. In 1996, she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with a minor in Sculpture.
Marirosa has shown in numerous cities, locations and establishments in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Spain and most recently, Tennessee. She has work in many private collections in the United States and abroad. Marirosa's favorite and most inspirational artists are Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Tolouse Lautrec and Edward Degas. Marirosa now spends much of her time painting in her Atlanta studio when most of the rest of the world sleeps. |
