Joshua Tabor is a local Atlanta artist with diverse talents and a penchant for interpreting his life’s experiences in his art. Born in Jacksonville Florida to two unorthodox southern parents, he was encouraged to think outside the conventional and look at the world from all angles. Influenced by his mother’s spirituality and his father’s analytical mind, Joshua has a unique science/spirit outlook.

This same background brought world religions into his life at an early age. Joshua would often fall asleep to the tales of Zeus, Athena, Isis and Brahma. Later exploration into alternative and older spiritual paths would influence his work as well.
In 2000, Joshua followed a calling into horticulture, embracing his ability to understand plants. This love for plants can also be seen in his drawings.

Joshua is a lucid dreamer. Often, subjects in his dreams remind him he is unconscious through various cues. Sometimes his mother appears to offer advice. Important people appear zoomorphic or otherwise altered.  Sketching these dreams have been a way to work through them and meditate on possible meanings; a way of gleaming meaning from otherwise esoteric ideas. The multiple layers allow more freedom to express the complete dream.
