Jo Sedlack“I use color, line, and texture to interpret and express personal, yet universal emotions and feelings of pain, joy, sensuality, longing, loss, and celebration. I have painted all of my life. When I was a child I became aware of tremendous power of emotion and imagination. In a rather stream of consciousness manner, I seek to artistically explore beyond the blurred lines that separate reality and the unbridled imagination. In each work I seek to impose a sense of commonality and equality that I feel exists amongst us all as human beings. My intense colorful pieces have a strong sense of equilibrium. Each work is intricately woven and often quite complex. The physical nature of the paint and other media are used to represent the intricate, positive, negative, rough, smooth, light, dark, harsh, delicate nature of our shared human and spiritual existence.” Jo Sedlack
